Police Identify Counterfeiting Suspect | Crime

Austin police may have a suspect in a recent case of passing counterfeit currency.

Officers reviewed a surveillance tape from the Kwik Trip convenience store on fourth street northwest, and identified an 18 year old Austin man.

Police say the video showed the man receiving two ten dollar bills in exchange for a bogus $20.

The exchange happened just after midnight on the Saturday morning, and police were notified several hours later when employees realized the $20 was counterfeit.
