To help control the population growth and unwanted kittens, the Mower County Humane Society and the Austin Vet Clinic is sponsoring another feline spay/neuter clinic during the month of March.

Reservations for appointments will be accepted starting February 6th until they are full.  The clinic is limited to 175 cats.

Your house cat or barn cat will be spayed or neutered at discounted prices.  Shots, flea/tick/wormer and other meds or treatments will also be available.

Make an appointment by calling the Austin Vet Clinic at 433-5225.  Pet porters are required for each cat that is brought for surgery.

The Mower County Humane Society is sponsoring a spay/neuter clinic for cats and dogs this Saturday at MCHS.

They are working with MNSNAP.org to help bring down the number of unwanted pets in Mower County. This is the second time we have had this group come to Mower County.

They travel and complete the surgeries via a "Spay/Neuter Mobile".

You can visit their website to see more about this non-profit group and all that they do to help low income Minnesotans have a spayed/neutered pet. They help out pet owners all over Minnesota.

This event is Saturday starting at 8AM at the Humane Society. It goes until all pets that are registered are done with surgeries.

The next step is taken to provide your pets a place to call their own.

The Austin Park Board has already recommended an area in the southeast part of town for the dog park.

That area is at the end of 2nd Street across from the
